Watch Sky Sports Racing Races Live

A big part of the reason to watch Sky Sports Racing is the great insight that the on air presenters and pundits give you. No matter if you are an ardent punter who keeps up to date with all of the comings and goings of the sport or if you are more of a causal better, who just likes a flutter now and again and want some hints and tips, the advice given on air covers all bases.

With some of the leading horse racing presenters and top pundits from a jockey, trainer and owner background, all of that great advice and insight does come at a premium and that is why you have to pay for a subscription tv channel to gain that value added content but the great news is that you can get all of the racing action as shown on the channel live online via our Sky Sports Racing live stream partners.

Whilst you may lose that insight, for many of us who enjoy the sport of horse racing and all that that entails it is the racing action that is the most important aspect and it is that action that we want to watch.

Sky Sports Racing has had a relatively long history for a specialist tv channel but it has been a turbulent history.

First established back in 2002 as Attheraces when it was a partnership between the large horse racetrack group Arena Racing Company and the free to air British tv channel Channel 4, it only initially lasted for under 2 years when it stopped broadcasting on the 29th March due to financial problems.

Both sides still saw some merit in the channel and in resenting live horse racing action on its own specialist tv channel and after some changes and restructuring, the channel was relaunched on the 11th June 2004.

The biggest change from the initial incarnation of the channel and the re-launched one was that the giants of the Channel 4 Corporation had pulled out, leaving the new version of the channel a partnership between BskyB and the Arena Racing Company.

On the 30th of April 2018, the channel underwent another major change as it was announced that At the Races (ATR) would be re-launched once more but this time as a newly branded channel as part of the main Sky Sports family of channels.

Whilst part of Sky for some time, the channel was always estranged in terms of name, branding and availability but that all changed.

The name was changed from At The Races to Sky Sports Racing to fit in with the rest of the newly named Sky Sports Channels and the channel was now easier for subscribers to access as Sky Sports Racing now featured on things such as Sky Go and was distributed via Sky packages instead of an added extra but of course that still means that you need an expensive and continuous subscription to be able to watch the action live.

The studio moved from the SIS broadcasting facility in Milton Keynes to Studio G at the sky studios in Isleworth.

The channel starts broadcasting in the early morning to bring fans the latest news as well as reviews of action from the day before.

News, reviews and updates are the given during the morning with presenters and pundits consistently changing but when the afternoon comes around, things calm down and get more serious.

A single presenter takes control and the focus changes solely to that afternoons action and the pundits in the studio give there thoughts on the action to be shown live on Sky Sports Racing as well as other big races and meeting from across the UK.

Some of the presenters to feature on the channel or to have featured on the channel in the past includes; Robert ‘Sir Bob’ Cooper, Sean ‘Boycie’ Boyce, Matt Chapman, Darrell Williams, Anthony ‘Enzo’ Ennis, Luke Harvey, John Hunt, Simon Mapletoft, Jason Weaver, Mike Cattermole, Zoey Bird, Alex Hammond, Derek ‘Tommo’ Thompson, Hayley Moore, Aly Vance, Kieran O’Sullivan, Hayley Turner, Martin Kelly, Jim McGrath, Mick Fitzgerald, Gina Bryce, Tim Caroll, John Blance and Vanessa Ryle.

If you are unable to access the channel, and many cannot not as whilst the product is a good one, it is also an expensive one that needs an ongoing subscription, the great news is that you can watch all of the action from the races shown live on the Sky Sports Racing live online via our live stream partners who bring you live streams of the races shown on Sky Sports Racing live.
