Jack Kennedy was born on 22 April 1999 in Dingle, County Kerry, Ireland, and grew up with racing connections that helped shape his future career. From a young age, he developed an interest in horses and riding, eventually beginning his journey towards becoming a professional National Hunt jockey. His natural talent was quickly recognised, and he made his first steps into competitive racing as a teenager.

Kennedy recorded his first winner on 22 May 2015 when riding Funny How for trainer Pat Flynn at Cork. This early success marked the beginning of a career that would develop rapidly over the following seasons. Unlike many jockeys who spend years working their way towards the biggest races, Kennedy quickly attracted attention because of his composure and ability to compete against more experienced riders.

A major turning point came when Kennedy became associated with trainer Gordon Elliott. The Cullentra House trainer has consistently provided opportunities for talented young jockeys, and Kennedy quickly became one of Elliott’s most trusted riders.
