There are a number of big race meeting held at the course from May to August but it is in the height of summer when the courses most notable races are held.

These include the Ripon Champion Tow Years Old Trophy (a listed race run over 6 furlongs for horses aged 2 years old, as you would expect from the races title) and the Great St. Wilfrid Stakes (a handicap race run over 6 furlongs for horses aged 3 and over) , which are both raced in August.
