Cartmel Races Live

This idyllic location, between the coast of Morecambe Bay and the hills and Lakes of the Windermere give Cartmel races a unique relaxed feel and with the majority of races been around public holidays, this popular tourist areas gives a holiday feel to the race meetings.

Cartmel offers less than 10 days of racing each season and with breaks in action, it gives racegoers the chance to take in the action and visit the surrounding areas.

This makes Cartmel popular with people from outside of the region but the good news is that if you cannot make the races live, you can watch via GGTV.

The July meeting features the Cumbria Crystal Hurdle Race whilst the August meeting offers 2 popular races including the Cartmel Cup and the Cavendish Cup, which is a steeplechase.

Despite not offering many days of action and been a small racetrack in a small village, Cartmel races is one of the most popular race days of the National Hunt season. Aside from the many tourists visiting, the tracks location just a shirt stroll from the cafes, bars and shops of Cartmel add to race day experience.

Horse racing in Cartmel can be traced back to 1856 but many think that it goes back further than that.

100% Legal Live Streams

All of the live horse racing streams featured on GGTV are 100% legal and 100% safe. Many websites feature illegal streams that simply steal the content direct from the likes of At The Races and Racing UK and whilst there may be a small cost to watch the races via legal streams (but let’s face it you are likely to be betting on the action anyway!) you can be sure that there are no computer viruses and/or other nasty’s infecting your computer/phone/tablet when watching.

So How is GGTV Different?

The streams that we feature here on GGTV are offered by bookmakers who have paid for the rights to bring you live horse racing action, so you can watch races that you have bet on.

What Can You Watch?

Different bookies have different services with some only focusing on the UK and Ireland whilst some bring you the action from all around the world. If you are after a specific race, please visit our preview section or for all races from a specific track, check out our track guides.

You can also click on the bookies in the table above for all the info you need.

Watch Racing From Cartmel Live

Cartmel is a unique racecourse as it is a small course, with few facilities that only hosts small local meetings but it still attracts some of the biggest single day attendances in the country.

Much of that is to do with the location of course right in the heart of the pretty Cumbrian village of Cartmel, which sits right on the edge of the Lake District and is hugely popular with tourists.

With all of the meetings held at the course held during the summer months, tourists from across the country and even the world, head for the course for a day out.

The village is home to local independent shops, cafes and is a pleasure to walk around and you can do that right from the course to really make a day of been at the race.

The course also hosts a number of concerts around the racing to bring crowds in and to really make a festival like atmosphere.

All of that helps the course attract some good quality horses, trainers and jockeys and far above what tracks of similar sizer and standing can attract to make it a must watch racecourse for fans.

The race with the biggest prize fund at Cartmel is the Cumbria Crystal Hurdle Race (run at the 2 day July festival) whilst other big races include the Cartmel Cup (over hurdles) and the Cavendish Cup (a steeplechase run over fences), which are run at the August bank holiday meeting.

Due to the huge crowds and small nature of the course, the meetings at Cartmel have down days to allow for cleaning and other aspects needed to host racing.

The course is fame for its steeplechase course which features a four furlong run in, which is the longest in Britain. The course only features National Hunt racing, with hurdle races having a much smaller run in.

No matter if you are a hurdles fan or a steeplechase fan or just a horse racing fan in general, the great news is that it has never been easier to watch the races live.

Whilst some of the action from the course is featured on tv, it can be difficult to watch the action without the need for an expensive subscription but thankfully you no longer need to be at the course in person to watch Cartmel races or to head to your local bookies in the hope they are showing the action, you can now watch what you wan to watch and how you want to watch it.

All of the bookies featured on this page bring you each and every race live from the course and you can watch them all on your phone, laptop, tablet or computer.

Whilst there is a wagering requirements that must be met to be able to watch the action, the chances are that if you are wanting to watch racing from Cartmel, you are also interested in betting on the action so why not simply bet with a bookie that allows you to watch along live?

Why not pop a Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding in the over and settled down for a great day of racing from the Lake Districts racecourse?

With the course been located on the edge of the Lake District, close to Morecombe Bay and near to many popular holiday parks and destinations in the beautiful county of Cumbria, it is perhaps not surprising that the courses biggest race meeting happens over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

The racing at the end of August is some of the best at the course all year long and always enjoys bumper crowds that add a great festival like atmosphere the race day.

That makes it a great location to be at the course in person to witness the fantastic action on offer but that of course isn’t always possible and even if you could make it, the limited amount of race days tends to mean that every day of action is sold out.

The second best option is of course to follow along by watching the footage live from Cumbria and thankfully that has never been simpler thanks to the great live streaming services found on this page that allow you to watch the races that you have bet on live.
