1000 Guineas Stakes Live
The 1000 Guineas Stakes is a group 1 horse race held over the Rowley Mile course at Newmarket. Raced over a 1-mile distance (1,609 meters), the 1000 Guineas Stakes takes place either in late April or early May each year- on the Sunday following the 2000 Guinea Stakes.
Interestingly the 1000 Guineas Stakes is the second of Britain’s five classic races and it is the first of 2 that are restricted to fillies only.
Although it is rarely attempted nowadays, the race can serve as the opening leg of the Fillies Triple Crown, with the Oaks and St Leger the other 2.
First run on the 28th April 1814, the race has one of the longest lineages in the world of horse racing and is now one of the most popular flat horse races on the calendar.
Although there are a number of trial races in the run up to the 1000 Guineas Stakes, including the Neil Gwyn Stakes and the Fred Darling Stakes, the race is often the first race of the flat season for many runners, which makes it amongst the most unpredictable races.
100% Legal Live Streams
All of the live horse racing streams featured on GGTV are 100% legal and 100% safe. So How is GGTV Different?
The streams that we feature here on GGTV are offered by bookmakers who have paid for the rights to bring you live horse racing action, so you can watch races that you have bet on.
What Can You Watch?
Different bookies have different services with some only focusing on the UK and Ireland whilst some bring you the action from all around the world. If you are after a specific race, please visit our preview section or for all races from a specific track, check out our track guides.

Down the years there have been a number of a jockeys, trainers and owners who have enjoyed great success in the 1000 Guineas Stakes although it should be said that it has proven to be harder and harder to break records as the years have gone on and with overall records proven all but impossible to break.
The race has become tougher and tougher to pick up the winners trophy in due to not only the competitive nature of the race but also the allure for horses to travel further to race in it.
The leading jockey, or the jockey to have the most wins in the race is George Fordham who won the race on 7 separate occasions. Those wins came on Mayonnaise (in 1859), Nemesis (in 1861), Formosa (in 1868), Scottish Queen (in 1869), Thebais (in 1881) and Hauteur (in 1883).
The leading trainer, or the trainer with the most wins goes back even further to Robert Robson, who won the race on 9 occasions. The winning horses trained by Robson included Corinne (in 1818), Catgut (in 1819), Rowena (in 1820), Zeal (in 1821), Whizgig 9in 1822), Tontine (in 1825), Problem (in 1826) and Arab (in 1827).
The leading owners, or the owners with the most wins in the 1000 Guineas Stakes was the 4th Duke of Grafton who was a British peer and politician and who was known as the Earl of Euston. Horses owned by the Duke were trained by Robson and overlapped with his wins but without Corinne.
Mayonnaise can also claim the biggest winning margin after racing out to a 20 length victory in 1859 whilst Crucifix was the shortest odds winning in 1840 when he won on odds of 1/10.
Some more recent record breakers have included Ghanaati who set the fastest ever time in 2009 when he won the race in just 1 minutes and 34 seconds.
Billesdon Brook became the horse to win with the longest odds in 2018, when many punters backed the horse at 66/1.
The most runners ever in the race was 29 in 1926 whilst the fewest ever runners was just 1 in 1825, when Tontine won in a walkover.
The great news for fans is that if you are wanting to watch the 1000 Guineas Stakes from Newmarket, it has never been easier.
