Epsom Oaks Stakes Live

The Oaks Stakes of Epsom Oaks as the race is increasingly been known as in the UK and throughout Europe, is a Group 1 flat horse race run at Epsom Downs racecourse over a distance of 4 furlongs and 10 yards (2423 meters).

The race, which is also known simply as The Oaks, takes pace annually in early June and is open to 3-year-old thoroughbred fillies.

The Oaks Stakes is the third of Britain’s five Classic races and is the second one to be restricted to fillies only. It is also part of the Fillies Triple Crown, along with the 100 Guineas and the St Leger although it is increasingly rare for a horse to attempt all 3.

100% Legal Live Streams

All of the live horse racing streams featured on GGTV are 100% legal and 100% safe. Many websites feature illegal streams that simply steal the content direct from the likes of At The Races and Racing UK and whilst there may be a small cost to watch the races via legal streams (but let’s face it you are likely to be betting on the action anyway!) you can be sure that there are no computer viruses and/or other nasty’s infecting your computer/phone/tablet when watching.

So How is GGTV Different?

The streams that we feature here on GGTV are offered by bookmakers who have paid for the rights to bring you live horse racing action, so you can watch races that you have bet on.

What Can You Watch?

Different bookies have different services with some only focusing on the UK and Ireland whilst some bring you the action from all around the world. If you are after a specific race, please visit our preview section or for all races from a specific track, check out our track guides.

Watch Epsom Oaks Live

The Epsom Downs is one of the oldest and most prestigious horse races in the world after been inaugurated way back in 1779 and it still remains one of the most popular races to be run at the Epson Down racetrack in Surrey.

No matter if you know it as The Oaks or as the Epsom Oaks, you will know that this is a race full of quality as it can attract the absolute best horses, jockeys, trainers and owners and there are a number of reasons for that.

1 reason is the big prize fund that the race offers which is helped by the fact that it is one of Britain’s 5 classic races and is the 2nd one to be restricted to just fillies. The race is also the middle leg of the Fillies Triple Crown along with the 1000 Guineas and the St Leger.

The popularity of the race has also led to a number of variants of it appearing around the world including the Irish Oaks (run at Curragh in the Republic of Ireland), the Preis der Diana (run at Dusseldorf in Germany), the Prix de Diane (run at Chantilly in France and also known as the French Oaks), the Oaks d’Italia (run at Milan in Italy, the Australian Oaks (run at Randwick Racecourse in Sydney), the New Zealand Oaks (run at Trentham Racecourse in Wellington) and the Yushun Himba (run at the Tokyo Racecourse in Japan).

With so much history and prestige around the race it is no surprise that there are a number of records that are held by legendary figures of the sport and a number that have proven almost impossible to break in the modern era.

The Jockey with the most wins is Frank Buckle with 9 wins won on Kike (1797), Bellissima (1798), Bellina (1799), Scotia (1802), Theophania (1803), Meteora (1805), Neva (1817), Corrinne (1818) and on Zinc (1823).

The trainer with the most wins is Robert Robson who had 13 wins between 1802 and 1825.

The 4th Duke of Grafton and Susan Magnier hold the record wins as owner with 6 wins a piece.

The faster time the race has been won at Epsom came in 2017 when Enable won in 2 minutes and 34 seconds whilst Sun Princess won by a record 12 lengths in 1983.

The longest odds for a winner was jointly won by Vespa, Jet Ski Lady and Qualify whilst Pretty Polly won the race with odds of just 8/100 in 1904 to make her the shortest odds record holder.

The race saw the most runners in 1848 when 26 horses took to the start whilst only 4 made it in 1799 and 1904.

The great news for all fans of horse racing is that no matter if this year’s race will be a record breaking one or just a regular Epsom Oaks full of quality and exciting racing, you can watch all of the action live online via our Epsom Oaks live stream partners.

Long gone are the days when you had to be a racecourse in person to be able to watch the action as it unfolds or that you had to make the long trip into town to your nearest bookies in the hope that they would be showing a feed of the race, nowadays you can simply watch live online via any of the bookies on this page.

Online bookmakers bring you live streams of race from across the globe including those run at Epsom Downs racecourse and whilst there is a minimum bet needed to be able to watch the race live, we are sure that if you are interested in watching the Epsom Oaks, the chances are that you will be betting on the action anyway.
